ST. LOUIS (KMOX) -  A 13-year-old St. Louis County girl is dead following a one-car crash early Tuesday near downtown.

Police say a car going north on I-55 struck the median guardrail as it approached the I-44 split just before 1 am.

The car swerved to the right and slammed into a concrete bridge pillar.

13-year-old Kaylan Newberry of Maryland Heights was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 28-year-old driver and three other passengers, including children ages 11 and 13, all suffered serious injuries.
