St. Louis Ranks Among Drunkest Cities in US

St. LOUIS, MO. (KMOX) - When it comes to pounding down a few, out of 25 cities nationwide, St. Louis ranks number 8, right between San Diego and Austin, Texas. The Daily Beast article, labeled “Drunkest Cities,” sights cities with a strong bar culture and an even stronger beer brewing industry.
This is the second time The Daily Beast has done their list based on information collected from what they call the leading marketing firm of Experian Simmons.
The data collected was analyzed and crunched down from the average number of alcoholic drinks residents admitted to per month. They also looked at binge drinkers and/or heavy drinkers from each metro area and figured up the percentages.
Here is the way St. Louis stacked up:
Average drinks, per person, per month : 14.4
Percent of adults who are heavy drinkers : 6.1%
Percent of adults who are binge drinkers : 18%
The number one city on the list is Boston, Massachusetts and number 25 is Houston, Texas
