ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – The Rams chief operating officer says there still is no timetable for picking a head coach to replace the fired Steve Spagnuolo or a general manager to replace Billy Devaney.
Kevin Demoff appeared on KMOX’s “Sports on a Sunday Morning Show” with Ron Jacober, saying the jobs are drawing lots of interest from around pro football, “Everybody’s excited about the direction of this franchise. They don’t seem to be concerned about a lot of the stuff the message boards or the fans worry about. And that’s a credit to Steve and Billy. They left this organization in very good shape.”
Demoff said former Titans coach Jeff Fisher was at Rams Park, Sunday to check out the facilities.
Fisher interviewed with owner Stan Kroenke last Thursday in Colorado.
Demoff stopped short of saying Fisher is atop the team’s wish list for a coach, “When you have someone of Jeff Fisher’s pedigree, it’s hard not to think that if he wants to be a Ram, you wouldn’t want him. At the same time, we’ve talked to a number of very interesting, very diverse candidates. I would say there’s not a leader in the clubhouse right now, and maybe that’s a defense mechanism should Jeff decide to go somewhere else.”
Demoff went on to say the two Titans staffers being interviewed for the Rams general manager job (Lake Dawson & Ruston Webster) were not suggested by Fisher or any other coaching candidate.
