77 Pounds of Marijuana Seized in IL

Police in Illinois seized 77 pounds of marijuana in a traffic stop on Tuesday. A trooper pulled over 74 year-old Refugio Salazar of Tulsa, Oklahoma for improper lane usage , and then searched the vehicle, according to a press release. Salazar has been arrested for cannabis trafficking. He’s being held in Madison County jail on a quarter million dollar bond.
That much pot is worth about $350,000. It was stored in bundles in the vehicle inside a stack of plywood. The 1996 Ford truck was stopped on Interstate 55 near Troy, Illinois.
