Investigators: Missing Iowa Woman Left On Her Own

Washington County, IA (KMOX)–Investigators say it now appears that the Iowa woman who’s car was found outside a vacant Wright City house last weekend, had planned to disappear.

Washington County, Iowa Sheriff Jerry Dunbar says Sharon Hopf cashed a one thousand dollar check to herself, from the furniture stores she owns with her husband, last Tuesday, two days before she went missing.  He says the evening before she disappeared, all of her emails were deleted from her computer.

Investigators are working to recover those emails. Dunbar says Hopf has family in the St. Louis area and in Texas, but they say they haven’t heard from her.
