Ask the average person on the street if they’ve ever heard of Kabbalah, and chances are pretty good they’ll say yes, they’ve heard of it. But asked to define it? That’s another story.
Listen to my Voices of St. Louis segment on the area’s new Kabbalah Centre:
Kabbalah is described as an ancient wisdom that pre-dates most religions, yet it does not exclude or take the place of other religions. It’s knowledge comes from the book of Zohar, translated into modern, accessible language by a new Kabbalah movement.
The Kabbalah Centre of St. Louis recently opened on Maryland Avenue in Clayton. It’s a bookstore and learning center with weekly classes and monthly visits from Yehuda Gez of the Kabbalah Centre of Los Angeles. Students of Kabbalah in the St. Louis area that I met seem dedicated and genuinely eager to share the study of this ancient wisdom with others. They say their lives, attitudes and relationships have all been improved by Kabbalah.
The Kabbalah Centre holds free introductory classes and their website provides plenty of links to learn more.
