Suspect Shot While Trying to Run Down Wood River Police Officer

WOOD RIVER, IL (KMOX) – A stolen car suspect is hospitalized in stable condition after being shot by Wood River police.

Police say two Wood River detectives found a car reported stolen from Pacific, Missouri.  When they approached the car, the suspect reportedly tried to run one of the officers down and was shot.

The suspect, 22-year-old Matthew Lane is charged with attempted first degree murder.  His bond is set at $300,000.
