ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOX) – Officials with the Missouri Department of Transportation will offer details on their plan to widen sections of Interstate 270 in west St. Louis County Monday afternoon.
“There will be minimal impact on through traffic, especially on the northbound lanes,” says MoDOT spokesman Andrew Gates, “because what we’ll do is we’ll move the existing four lanes over.”
That, plus the narrowing of existing lanes of traffic, would make room for an extra lane northbound from Interstate 44 through Manchester, and southbound from Dougherty Ferry through I-44.
Construction is set to begin this fall.
This afternoon’s open house begins at 4 p.m. at the Lodge of Des Peres on Des Peres Road.
