Chips and dip

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) – What’s the key to winning the Super Bowl battle of the bulge? A local dietician says you gotta eat smart.

St. Louis University registered dietician Katie Elliott recommends eating baked chips instead of fried chips and bring dips with low fat cheese. Also if you can, watch how many alcoholic beverages your drinking.

“That’s were we can pick up a lot of extra calories,” said Elliott. “And we start to get hungrier our blood sugar could dip and you end up eating more.”

One game Elliott says she’ll be playing during the game is saving those high calorie, high fat items for eating at desperate times, like when your team fumbles or the other team scores.
