STANTON, Mo. (KMOX) - A gunman who fired shots from his vehicle into another vehicle is in custody tonight in Franklin County.

It all started around 7:30 p.m. with what police are calling a road rage incident.   A 17 year old man fired shots at a vehicle with a man and two children inside on Highway W.  No one was hurt, but the gunman followed the man and his children to their home.  That’s where a neighbor with a shotgun fired shot at the gunman.  He then drove off, abandoned his car near Stanton Missouri and broke into a woman’s apartment.

He held her hostage for about a half hour, then gave himself up to negotiators with the Missouri Highway Patrol.

That man is in custody tonight in Franklin County.
