Owner Charged After Florissant Jazz Club Fire

FLORISSANT, Mo. (KMOX) — The owner of the Florissant jazz club destroyed by fire early Sunday, is being charged with second-degree arson.

40-year-old Lozell Stiles was charged Monday with setting the fire that gutted the Halls Ferry Inn Jazz Cafe located at 3425 North Highway 67.

Around 2:20 a.m. Sunday firefighters were met by heavy smoke as the fire spread throughout a large potion of the business causing extensive damage to the club and an adjoining building.

Florissant Detectives became suspicious about the origin of the fire, leading to Stiles arrest.

Stiles’s bail has been set at $10,000.
