Thieves Target Parked Vehicles at Lambert

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) — The crunch of shattered glass mixed with the patter of rain drops at the American Airlines employee lot near Lambert Airport, where more thieves broke into more than a dozen vehicles overnight.

According to officials, four people in a white van were spotted in the vicinity, sometime after midnight. The parking area is near the cell phone lot at the airport. As many as 20 vehicles or more had windows smashed out, as the culprits grabbed for anything valuable inside.

Airport police have spread out to the other Lambert parking areas, looking to see if any other vehicles were hit in the smash-and-grab style crimes.

There are reports that the white van spotted early had been recovered on an airport service road – but there was no sign of the occupants.

I’m wondering why there aren’t security cameras monitoring the employee parking areas of the airport. Technology is available to safeguard personnel and property which often catches criminals in the act. http://www.urbanspycam.com/dome-cameras/high-speed-dome-camera.html
