FERGUSON, Mo. (KMOX) — Ferguson police say a woman fell asleep at a McDonald’s drive-thru restaurant and woke up embedded in the building across the five-lane highway separating them.
Early Wednesday morning, a woman pulled in the drive-thru lane of a McDonald’s restaurant, but fell asleep at the wheel waiting for her meal.
Capt. Rick Henke of the Ferguson Police Department told KMOX that her foot became relaxed in slumber, and slipped off the brake pedal.
“She obviously left her car in gear causing her vehicle to travel out of the McDonald’s parking lot, across five traffic lanes … [and] enter the parking lot of the businesses across the street from McDonald’s, and continued into the front of a Chinese restaurant that was closed at the time,” he continued.
He added that no injuries were reported, and that the driver was not charged with anything besides having a suspended driver’s license.
