ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - More people are riding the Metro than at this this time last year. Metro Spokeswoman Dianne Williams says this mild winter has really helped.
She says looking down the road at gas prices on the rise, there will probably be even more of an up-tick in riders.
A metro pass costs $68.00 for unlimited rides for a month, which is more than most people spend on gas, car maintainance and parking.
In Washington, lawmakers are debating a possible cut in funding for mass transit that Williams says would be detrimental to the daily operations of the Metro.
She says the city uses that money for maintainance on busses and light rails, and for any expansion projects.
