Man Sentenced for Threats to SIUC

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KMOX) - A 23 year old man has been sentenced to 16 months in prison for making threats to people at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
Federal prosecutors say Maurice Leon Wiggins threatened to bomb three dormitories and the student center because his girlfriend broke up with him.
Prosecutors say he e-mailed the campus”crime watch” web page and stated he planned to kill four-thousand students and then left a phone message with campus police stating he was going to rape and kill 30 female students.
Besides the jail time Wiggins will serve three years supervised release and pay a one-hundred dollar fine and a court fee.
