ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Dunard Morris, former business manager for Metropolitan Urological Specialists (MUS), has been arrested on multiple mail and wire fraud charges.
He’s accused of ripping off millions from his fellow doctors and spending the cash to buy himself fast cars, expensive jewelry, fine wine and designer clothes.
The indictment released by the U.S. Attorney’s office states that Morris, 48 of St. Charles, increased his base salary from MUS on several occasions without authorization or consent from his business partners or shareholders.
As money piled up from the illegal scheme, Morris allegedly went on a spending spree that included jet-setting around the world and paying more than $5,000 a month to rent a luxury apartment.
According to the charges, Morris also told his fellow doctors that he was a decorated Marine Corps veteran who had won the Navy Cross for heroism, when in fact he had been discharged from the military “under other than honorable conditions”.
For that he was charged under the Stolen Valor Act.
Each of the five felony mail and wire fraud counts against Morris carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and fines of up to $250,000.
