ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — St. Louis Blues General Manager Doug Armstrong has been named to Team Canada’s Management Group through the 2013-14 season. Armstrong will work alongside returning Executive Director Steve Yzerman as well as a group that will include Ken Holland (Detroit), Kevin Lowe (Edmonton), Bob Nicholson (Hockey Canada) and Brad Pascall (Hockey Canada). The group will oversee operations for Team Canada, including staff selection, player evaluation and selection as well as team operations for international events.

Armstrong was named the Blues’ Executive Vice President and General Manager on July 1, 2010 after serving two seasons as the Blues’ Vice President of Player Personnel. The 11th General Manager in Blues History, Armstrong has executed several transactions that have brought many of the Blues’ current roster players to St. Louis including Jaroslav Halak, Brian Elliott, Chris Stewart, Kevin Shattenkirk, Jason Arnott and Jamie Langenbrunner. Since Armstrong took over, the Blues have a record of 79-51-18 including a 41-18-7 mark this season placing them first in the Central Division, second in the Western Conference and third overall in the NHL.
