Forest Fire Hinders Travel on Interstate 44 near Rolla

ROLLA, MO–(KMOX)–The Missouri Highway Patrol reports a major brush fire raging along Interstate 44 — with wind-whipped flames leaping across the highway.

The fire was centered near the 175 mile marker, between the towns of Jerome and the Doolittle. Firefighters from Doolittle, Newburg and Rolla were working the blaze. There are no reports of any injuries, but traffic was reduced to one lane in each direction.
