Two of the best-loved films from the past will be showing in St. Louis this month.

“The Quiet Man” from 1952 starring John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara (Wayne & O’Hara were best friends in real life.) will have screenings at The Hi Pointe Theater on Tuesday March 6th at 1:30 PM and again on Saturday March 10 at 10:30 AM. I will have the privilege of introducing the film on Saturday.

The “Casablanca” screenings are presented by NCM Fathom Events, Turner Classic Movies and Warner Home Video and feature an enhanced 70th Anniversary Edition of the film. More than 450 movie theaters are participating in the special showings.

    This is great, long live our last single screen. You should also have the
    privilege of reviewing at least 10 or 11 weeks of ‘book’ shows at MUNY a year instead of 7 and either you or someone else from KMOX-15 or so concerts on either side of the core season. The Hi-Pointe and its neighbor-Cheshire-would do better with MUNY drawing 900,000 a year instead of 400,000. Better for the hotels, motels and restaurants near the Park. Better for St. Louis. Makes us big.
