Lawmaker to Oppose Naming State Butterfly

Senator Kevin Engler thinks it’s time to stop all the special designations. “I think it’s stupid. We’re having a difficult time getting things done as it is, and to continually subject this body to the ridicule that all we do is the ‘official Missouri and things’ is dumb.” said Senator Engler.
Missouri lawmakers are in the process of considering a state butterfly. It would be the Fritillary butterfly. Supporters say it would help tourism.
