Resolution Will Memorialize Uhl Sisters Along Interstate 64 in Metro East
SPRINGFIELD, IL (KMOX) – State Senator Bill Haine has introduced a resolution, dedicating a portion of Interstate 64…..in memory of two Collinsville sisters killed in a traffic accident by an Illinois State Trooper.
Jessica and Kelly Uhl died Thanksgiving weekend 2007 when their car was struck by former Illinois State Trooper Matt Mitchell. He was convicted of reckless homicide.
Haine says Interstate 64 between Exit 19-A, Route 158 and Exit 23, at Route 4 will be renamed the Jessica and Kelli Uhl Memorial Highway.
The resolution will now go before the Illinois House.Today, the Senate unanimously approved the measure.
