When It Comes To Bad Driving, St. Louis Has Right Of Way

Fred Bodimer

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) –  Here’s something that’ll make you want to grip the steering wheel a little tighter and double-check those mirrors: St. Louis has the most dangerous drivers in America.

At least according to Men’s Health Magazine.

Deputy editor Matt Marion says once they finished crunching the numbers, the outcome became clear.

“The thing that stuck out to me most about St. Louis was the number of fatal crashes,” Marion tells KMOX News. “Especially hit-and-run and speeding, those really pulled the city’s score down. But also just the number, period. St. Louis came in with the second-highest total number of fatal crashes per ten-thousand people.”

A very thin silver lining – Marion says the number of alcohol-related crashes here was lower than many other cities.

If you want to cruise the safest streets in America, Marion says, head up to St. Paul, Minnesota.
