‘Crosshair Threat’ Prompts Call for More Security Cameras at State Capitol

JEFFERSON CITY, MO. (KMOX) – There’s a push for more security cameras at the Missouri Capitol.  Senator Robin Wright-Jones supports the move, sighting the recent rifle-cross-hair posters that were pasted on a number of senator’s doors.

“When the threats came in, and even the second threat came in that I was included in,  every one of them referenced the Gabrielle Giffords situation which being a woman and an elected official did not sit well with me.” said Senator Wright-Jones.

Republican Senator Jason Crowell calls the security measures “over-reaction.”

“The governor said and I support the Governor’s decision.  We don’t have to put cameras everywhere.” said Senator Crowell.

The bill has stalled in the senate.
