WASHINGTON PARK, Ill. (AP) — An investigator says an autopsy on a woman’s body found in the southwestern Illinois village of Washington Park failed to pinpoint how she died, leaving it up to toxicology tests to help answer that question.
Authorities say the body of Jessica Williams was found Monday in a wooded area, 10 days after the 30-year-old woman was reported missing from near Collinsville.
St. Clair County deputy coroner Dan Haskenhoff tells the Belleville News-Democrat that Williams’ body was too decomposed to ascertain whether she had any wounds.
Blood screenings generally take several weeks to complete.
