UNIVERSITY CITY, Mo. (KMOX) - Police in University City say a woman has now confessed to vandalizing cars parked outside a fraternity house at Washington University last week.
Members of the Zeta Beta Tau fraternity in the 7000 block of Forsyth returned from spring break last Friday to find that someone had scratched swastikas into the paint of several cars, which also had their tires slashed.
The suspect is not being identified by name, but police describe her as a “former acquaintance” of one of the ZBT fraternity members.
ZBT member Max LaVictoire is glad the mystery is solved but no less upset about what happened to his car, and those of several of his fraternity brothers.
“It’s really just frustration more than anger,” he told KMOX. “I just wanna know why.”
Police have not commented on a possible motive behinds the vandalism, which was being investigated by the FBI as a possible hate crime.
