ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Two men are accused of stealing grease from some Soulard neighborhood restaurants, early Saturday.

St. Louis city police say the victim businesses include John D. McGurk’s Pub and Tuckers Place.

The suspects are listed as a pair of 21-year-old men.

In a Twitter posting, circuit attorney Jennifer Joyce names the arrested as Landon Thomas and Byron Aston.

Thefts involving used cooking oil are on the rise nationally, driven by the increase in gas prices.

Thieves often convert the grease into bio-diesel fuel.
