ST. LOUIS (KMOX)-It’s official, last month was the warmest March on record. In fact it was so warm, it would rank as the 11th warmest April!
The National Weather Service says last month set a record for average temperature, 61.1 degrees and the most number of days at 80 degrees or above, 11. Both previous records, average temperature 57.5 degrees and 8 days at 80 degrees or above, were set in 1910.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Karl Sieczynsky tells KMOX the warmth was caused by a persistent upper level ridge that dominated the midwest’s weather pattern. He says it has nothing to do with climate change.
