RED BUD, Ill. (KMOX) – It’s been five days since someone in the small Illinois community of Red Bud struck it rich.
Lottery spokesman Mike Lang says the winner hasn’t come forward with Mega Millions lottery ticket bought at the MotoMart convenience store and everyone is waiting.
Store manager Denise Metzger says she sure hopes that happen soon.
“I want them to put us out of our misery, we’re all just dying to find out who it is.”
As for who might hold the winning ticket, Metzger said “there’s probably 10 to 15 theories out here.”
When you’re the store that sells a winning Mega Millions ticket, you get a bonus check from the Illinois lottery. That amounts $500,00 and when you’re the employees that work for that store, you might get a nice bonus yourself.
Metzer said nine employees at the MotoMart will share in 50-thousand-dollars of bonus cash given to the store’s owners.
The Red Bud Winner will take in about $218 million before taxes.
