MILWAUKEE, Wisc. (KMOX) – The season’s only one game old, and the St. Louis Cardinals are already making a roster move.

The team placed right-handed reliever Scott Linebrink on the 15-day disabled list, Friday, due to a right shoulder injury. The designation is retroactive to March 30.

To replace Linebrink, the Cardinals brought up right-handed reliever Victor Marte from AAA Memphis. He’ll wear uniform #66.

The 31-year-old Marte has made 30 career appearances in the majors, all with Kansas City (2009-10).  He led the Pacific Coast League with 31 saves for Memphis last season.
