Car’s Passengers Drown In SE Missouri

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. (KMOX) - Two men drowned in the Black River of southeast Missouri after their car crashed and overturned in the water.
Poplar Bluff police say the Missouri Water Patrol removed the bodies of the victims, Saturday. Their names have not been released.
The driver of the car, 24-year-old Christine Aldridge of Poplar Bluff, faces a charge of Driving While Intoxicated and two counts of manslaughter.
Police say Aldridge admitted to them that she was drunk and missed a stop sign, early Saturday. She told them she hit her brakes, but the car skidded into the river.
Aldridge climbed out of a window and some bystanders helped her reach the riverbank.
