ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – The public today will get its first — and maybe only — chance to weigh in on a proposed “lid” over the depressed lanes of Interstate 70 in downtown.
Representatives with the Missouri Department of Transportation will hold an open house at St. Louis City Hall.
“We’ll be able to give them some idea about what we’re proposing and take some feedback on that,” MoDOT District Engineer Ed Hassinger explains.
While the design may evolve, the park-over-the-highway concept is what was chosen as part of the Archgrounds redesign initiative.
“You won’t see any construction until the end of next year,” MoDOT District Engineer Ed Hassinger tells KMOX News. “We’re going to spend probably the rest of this year doing design work.”
The meeting is set for 3-5 p.m. at City Hall.
