ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Beware for whom the bell tolls…or in this case, for whom the phone rings.
Police questioning a St. Louis teen about a robbery over the weekend called the victim’s cell phone during the interview — and heard the stolen phone ringing in the suspect’s pocket.
17-year-old Katrina Diggs then confessed to taking the phone from the victim Saturday in the 2600 block of Cherokee while somebody else held the man at gunpoint.
Using that information, officers returned to the scene of the robbery and found a discarded firearm.
Diggs faces charges of 1st degree robbery and armed criminal action.
