It was pleasant weather for yesterday’s running of the Go St. Louis marathon and the winner of the womens’ marathon set a record.
29-year-old Jackie Pirtle-Hall, a former state champion runner from Francis Howell North High School, finished more than 17-minutes ahead of her closed competitor.
In the mens’ division 32-year-old Julius Kosgei (kahs-gay) of Searcy, Arkansas finished 15-seconds ahead of the second place runner.
Go St. Louis officials say 1,025 men finished the marathon, as did 574 women.
