QULIN, Mo. (AP) -  Nearly 13 years after Carla Austin of rural southeast Missouri was killed, four people are now facing charges.

KFVS-TV reports that two of Austin’s step-daughters, a nephew of her late husband and a family friend were all arrested Thursday and charged with second-degree murder.

Austin was 33 when she went out for a night on the town in Qulin, Mo., in August 1999, and never returned.

Hunters found her body in a rural area of Butler County three months later.

Butler County Sheriff Mark Dobbs reopened the case and exhumed Austin’s body last month.

Dobbs says authorities believe Austin was involved in an altercation at a bar, then was lured to a rural area and killed.
