UNIVERSITY CITY, Mo. (KMOX) - University City’s 2nd annual Movies in the Parks series opens this Saturday, April 21st, in Heman Park.
Organizers will jump right into this year’s theme – “Coming of Age” – with a screening of one of the most influential of all teen films, “American Graffiti”.
It will be followed by a collection of six additional films:
* Cooley High – Saturday, May 19th in Millar Park
* How To Train Your Dragon – Wednesday, June 13th in Fogerty Park
* Akeelah & the Bee – Wednesday, July 11th in Lewis Park
* Bend It Like Beckham – Wednesday, Aug. 8th in Flynn Park
* To Kill A Mockingbird – Saturday, Sept. 15th in Fogerty Park
The free series, selected by a committee of volunteer residents, concludes with a viewers’ choice of either “Super 8″, “Goonies”, or “Stand By Me” on Saturday, Oct. 13th in Heman Park.
Residents’ votes will be collected online and at every preceding Movies in the Park event.
