Suspect Sought in Maplewood Apartment Fire

MAPLEWOOD, Mo. (AP) — Authorities in Maplewood are looking for an 18-year-old man as part of an investigation into an arson fire that damaged an apartment building.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that investigators have determined the fire that broke out early Monday was intentionally set, and they have a suspect they want to question.

No one was hurt. Maplewood Fire Chief Terry Merrell says a third-floor apartment was badly damaged. The blaze spread to the roof and damaged two adjacent units. Also, two second-floor apartments had water damage.

Four families were forced out of their apartments as a result of the fire.
