ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — While on the clock with the No. 6 pick, the St. Louis Rams made the decision to trade their first-round pick to the Dallas Cowboys. The Rams now get the No. 14 overall pick while gaining their third second-round pick at No. 45 overall.
The Rams’ choices changed once the Cleveland Browns and Jacksonville Jaguars both traded up on Thursday evening to make sure they could select running back Trent Richardson and wide receiver Justin Blackmon respectively.
Now for the second year in a row, the Rams will have the No. 14 pick. In 2011, they took defensive end Robert Quinn out of the University of North Carolina.
This marks the second trade by GM Les Snead and head coach Jeff Fisher before making their first pick.
The Cowboys selected cornerback Morris Claiborne out of Louisiana State University.
