ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina is a platinum standard player.
Selected as a member of the 2011 Rawlings Gold Glove top defenders team from the National League, fans then picked Molina as the sole Rawlings Platinum Glove Award Winner in the NL.
He received 38% of the vote. Cincinnati’s Brandon Phillips came in second with 17%. Texas third baseman Adrian Beltre won the American League award.
Rawlings presented Yadier Molina with his Platinum Glove prior to Saturday’s home game against Milwaukee.
