Storm Cleanup in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – A wind gust from round one of Saturday’s thunderstorms caused the fatal tent collapse at a bar and grill near Busch Stadium.

Round two came later —causing lots of tree damage throughout the city of St. Louis.

Public Safety director Eddie Roth tells KMOX News fifty city forestry department employees worked into the wee hours of the morning, “Their primary work was to clear streets and alleys of fallen trees and limbs. We’ll have more than a hundred out Sunday with dump trucks and front loaders, picking up the debris.”

Mayor Slay’s chief of staff Jeff Rainford posted a Twitter message Sunday, thanking the city workers and supervisors for their overnight cleanup efforts.
