Lisa Stone
ST. LOUIS (AP) — A person with knowledge of the deal tells The Associated Press that former Wisconsin coach Lisa Stone has been hired to coach Saint Louis’ women’s basketball team.
The person spoke Thursday on condition of anonymity because the school hasn’t announced the hiring.
Stone will be introduced Friday at a news conference, the person said.
Stone coached at Wisconsin for eight seasons before being fired in March of 2011. She was 128-119 as coach of the Badgers. She led the team to the NCAA tournament in 2010, but Wisconsin lost in the opening round to Vermont.
Stone succeeds Shimmy Gray-Miller, who was let go in March. The Billikens went 11-20 this season and were 71-136 in Gray-Miller’s seven years at the school.
