SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — Services for Illinois veterans are getting another round of financial support from gamblers.

The Department of Veterans‘ Affairs announced Friday that eight groups are splitting $263,000 from the sale of scratch-off lottery games. That brings this year’s total proceeds from the “Veterans Cash” instant ticket to $1.4 million.

The largest of the new grants goes to the Bravehearts program in Harvard. It’s getting $85,000 for therapeutic horseback riding and carriage driving for veterans.

Revelation Golf in Elk Grove Village is getting more than $62,000 to help disabled veterans improve their range of motion.

A $25,000 check is going to the Veterans Assistance Commission of Sangamon County for dental care.
