ST. LOUIS (AP) – Four men are in custody and accused of carjacking an off-duty St. Louis-area police officer and his two children.
KMOV-TV reports that the crime happened Sunday night in St. Louis and involved a Bellefontaine Neighbors officer. Police say the officer and his two children were forced out of their Jeep Compass by two men wearing red bandannas, one of whom had a gun.
The officer and the kids were not hurt, but the suspects got away in the Jeep. Police saw the stolen vehicle around 1:50 a.m. Tuesday and a chase began. All four people in the Jeep were captured.
So far, no charges have been filed.
