BELLEVILLE, Ill. (KMOX) - Police in Belleville are asking for the public’s help to track down a man who robbed a credit union earlier this week.
A man in his 20′s with short braided hair, blue jeans, a light blue button down shirt and a tan fuzzy hat walked into the Catholic and Community Credit Union and handed the teller a note announcing a robbery.
He did not display a weapon, nor indicate he had one.
The same man had earlier been seen hanging around the Scott Credit Union in Cahokia, acting suspiciously.
However, no robbery occurred in Cahokia.
A $1,000 reward is being offered.
Anyone with information about the Belleville robbery is asked to call the Belleville Police Department at (618) 234-1212 and ask for Det. Kraft or Det. Thomason.
Information can also be made anonymously by calling Crimestoppers at (800) 371-8477.
