BELLEVILLE, Ill. (KMOX) – Firefighters are on the scene of what appears to be another suspicious blaze in St. Clair County this morning.
KMOX’s Allison Blood reports that the suspected arson fires started in late April and are all located in or near Freeburg.
“Right now the only common catalyst that we’re willing to divulge is that they are sheds or barn-type buildings that are uninhabited,” according to Sgt. Michael Hundelt with the St. Clair County Sheriff’s department.
While they haven’t determined if the same person is behind the rash of fires, investigators have found similarities at each fire scene.
Again, there have been no injuries but most of the sheds set ablaze have been total losses.
