VENICE, Ill. (KMOX) - A locomotive strikes a pedestrian in the Metro-East, killing him.

The Madison County Coroner’s office says 59-year-old Corneilius Bell of Venice attempted to cross the tracks at Market and State in Venice on Friday night, but was hit.

Investigators say Bell’s girlfriend crossed the tracks safely, just before he was struck.
