GRAY SUMMIT, MO. (KMOX) – Expect major delays on I-44 near Gray Summit. MODOT is removing the old Route-100 bridge over the interstate.
Wednesday night and again Thursday night , from 9 P.M. to 5 A.M., all lanes will be shut down and the detour will take you on winding country roads.
After the interstate reopens each morning at 5 A.M. there will be one Eastbound and Westbound lane closed until 3 P.M.
MODOT’s Judy Wagner says big rig drivers are being told to stay off I-44 in the Gray Summit altogether.
She says there will be alternate routes for truckers so they can avoid the area altogether:
Truckers headed Eastbound should detour to Route O, then Route F, then West Osage Street to access the interstate.
Truckers headed Westbound should detour to Route 100 in Gray Summit, then Route MM, then Route T to get back to Route 100 to access the interstate.
