JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — A Jefferson City woman is going to federal prison for robbing six banks in central and eastern Missouri.
Thirty-eight-year-old Dwashan Trakese Thompson pleaded guilty earlier to the robberies, which took place from December 2009 to late December 2010.
The U.S. Attorney’s office says Thompson was sentenced Monday to seven years and three months without parole. She was also ordered to pay restitution of nearly $58,000.
Thompson robbed two banks in Jefferson City in December 2010. The earlier holdups took place in Montgomery City, St. Peters, Weldon Springs and St. Charles.
Her smallest haul was roughly $1,600 from the Missouri Credit Union in Jefferson City. The biggest was nearly $28,000 from Truman Bank in St. Peters.
Authorities said Thompson wore a ski mask and demanded money from the tellers.
