EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (KMOX) – A lot of attention will focus on East St. Louis Friday when the parents and the brother of Trayvon Martin hold a rally there. Spokesperson Stephanie Anthony-Miles says they are not coming to make a case against Florida neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman.
“What they are hoping to accomplish is to plead with the teens in East St. Louis to cease the senseless gun fighting” said Stephanie Anthony-Miles.
She says Trayvon’s father, Tracy, grew up in East St. Louis and is a 1986 graduate of East St. Louis Senior High School…so he feels a personal connection. Everyone is invited and a personal invite has gone out to the mayors and police chiefs of East St. Louis and St. Louis.
The rally will be held at North End Missionary Baptist Church at 463 N. 88th Street, East St. Louis at Noon on Friday May 25th.
