The Internet Movie Database (IMDB.Com), the world’s most popular movie website, has named the 10 most anticipated films of the summer of 2012. The results were based on unique page views by the website’s 150 million monthly visitors.
“The Dark Knight Rises” opening July 20 came in #1. It was followed in order by: “Prometheus” June 8th; “The Amazing Spider-Man” July 3rd; “Snow White and the Huntsman” June 1; “Battleship,” which has already opened; “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” July 22nd; “The Expendables 2″ August 17th; “The Bourne Legacy” August 3rd; “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” June 29th and “Men in Black III” May 25th.
Based on the success already of “The Hunger Games” and “The Avengers,” which are considered summer films with early release dates, 2012 could be a record year for ticket sales at the movies.
