EAST ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - An O’Fallon, Illinois man is dead and three others are wounded —one critically —after a pair of early Sunday morning shootings in East St. Louis.

Police say Jimmy Dotson was shot once on Sixth Street at Martin Luther King at about 1:15 am. Witnesses say he was walking from one nightclub to another when he was shot. Investigators don’t know if he was targeted or a random victim.

Just over an hour later someone in a maroon SUV opened fire on three people in the drive-thru lane outside a store in the 1500 block of Missouri Avenue.

Police say two of the victims were outside a car. The third was in the vehicle.

It’s not known if the shootings are related.

These attacks come a day after John Haley was hit by up to 8 of the 17 bullets fired at him at a Memorial Day barbecue outside a home on Brady Avenue.

Police say anyone with tips on the shootings should call Crimestoppers at 1-866-371-8477.
